Full Moon, Full Madness.

This is unquestionably one of the endearingly unbelievable things I’ve come across.

This being the fact that the Full moon fulfills lover’s prayers and stimulates pent up passions. I mean, sure it makes for a good setting, clear skies, a starry night, bright moon, good times; but it doesn’t cause one to implement something that most people dream, or day dream about.

It’s cute and hard to believe because there are prayers to be said to the Moon to find out about your love life’s future course. It’s cute in an Aww-I’d-pray-to-the-moon-for-you-even-if-it-makes-me-look-stupid sort of a way. Look I’m devout in so much as praying to the almighty, a Hindu who believes in multi-deity worship, and a psychology-philosophy part major… Why am I telling you this? well now you can deduce that I have an open mind about a lot of things. 😛 Having said that, the whole full moon prayer ritual for love life prediction… This is a little weird I’d say.

Your love life, is in your hands, go out there and make things happen. Seriously ask yourself, what’s the worst that can happen? They’ll say No or Yes. Either way, you’ll know! No offense to the believers or practitioners of this thought process I just find it a little hard to believe.

In America, the new moon was used by lovers, who would glance over their right shoulders, take three steps backward and then say the following verse:

“New moon, new moon, true and bright,
If I have a lover let me dream of him tonight.
If I am to marry far, let me hear a bird cry;
If I am to marry near, let me hear a cow low;
If I am to marry never, let me hear a hammer knock.”

I know, for a fact that this doesn’t work, because yeah, I tried it myself a little before I began writing (not publishing, you guys, writing.) this post, and nothing happened, like at all. So maybe I’ll be single, sad and miserable all my life and may even have about 30 cats around me when I’m old and wrinkly, or I’ll find a really good life partner and live life to the fullest, without being married at all – neither of which have been indicated by the prayer.

To all those who still believe this myth is true, I ask, two questions: What if nothing happens? like at all.(which happened to me, so I’m really curious to know the future of my love life) 😛

How surely have you ruled out co-incidence?

So while you ponder on that, I’m gonna push off.
