These islands are not only beautiful and picturesque but behold some deep secrets with in them. Today in my post I will be talking about the Andaman and Nicobar islands which are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea and are a Union Territory of India. These islands are not only a perfect destination for vacation but is also a suitable destination for those who can to discover themselves in peace. Today my post is for those travellers who not only explore a place but are also interested in the secrets and the facts about that place. Well starting with some fun facts about this amazing place did you all know that almost 90 % of the land area of the Andaman and Nicobar islands is covered with rich forest cover, probably the most area is covered among all the states in the country.

If we talk about the places to visit in Adaman and Nicobar islands Port Blair stands at the first place. National Arts Emporium, Port Blair is one such place that every tourist should visit. Most tourists head to the government-run Sagarika Emporium on M.G. Road for buying souvenirs. From the sought after padauk wood, lightweight walking sticks made from cane, to caps and T-shirts, shell jewellery and wooden dancing dolls, shopping here is a fulfilling experience. A perfect place for shopaholics indeed!

Now is the time for the next fact did you guys knew that there are around 572 scattered islands out of which only around 37 are inhabited. The rest are without human population. Then who lives there? That is a tough question though.

Another place to visit in Port Blair is The Golden Dragon. From wayside eateries to fancy restaurants for diners, Port Blair boasts a mouthwatering variety. A real gem is The Golden Dragon, which not many people in Port Blair know about, but once you visit it you can not resist going there again and again. The restaurant is the living room of a friendly Indian family, one that had emigrated from China via Kolkata. The variety of chicken served here can fill your mouth with flavours. Indeed a joint for all the foodies.

These islands have about 25 harbours, probably the largest number in the country which is for you one more interesting fact about these islands. This is not all these islands are a rich and fascinating blend of what is the best of India, a heady mix of religions, languages, cultures and beliefs.
