“You fill up my senses, like a night in the forest, like the mountains in spring time, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean…” (okay, I’ve been listening to John Denver lately..)

Hello to the people of the world! What’s up?
Yesterday I told you why getting lost was a good thing for me, seriously, my confidence levels go through the roof these days.. 😛 Today I’m going share one of my favorite travel experiences.

So this happened somewhere in the October of 2013.. I was attending the Mumbai Film Festival, and met with a few of my friends after the 6pm show. The streets around Metro Cinema were alive with the glow of traffic lights and lamps, it’s almost as if they moved by themselves, slithering slowly like a snake approaching its prey. Cars racing back and forth, against a ramshackle landscape under the dark canopy of the night. It was perfect, and more.

We crossed over to one of the winding serpentine lanes and ventured through them, the hustle was infectious, that lane was teeming with people and vehicles alike, and I haven’t the foggiest idea, why we chose to walk through that lane, and what we talked about, only that we were having a great time. A turn or two later, we reached the ever popular Marine Drive, whose reputation of notoriety as a make out ground is true. There just is something about the sea and the inability in couples to control their urge to make out. So we were chilling and basically having a good time, even though we were supremely awkward because of the couple canoodling beside us, one of my friends’ phone rang, it was her boyfriend calling and her ringtone was John Denver crooning at a hilariously loud volume “You fill up my senses….” Before she could answer the call, the couple abruptly stopped, thought we were playing some sort of a sick joke on them, cursed under their breath and we burst out laughing to which the dude asks us “why are you laughter-ing” and I just laughed louder. As did the rest of us, and in all of this laughter, she ended up switching the loud speaker function of her phone on. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed louder in my entire life, of course that was harder to explain to her boyfriend who demanded to know why that song was his assigned ringtone on her phone, while being on loud speaker.

Even as I type this, she’s calling with a plan for the evening!

Gotta go take this! 😀
