Sisterhood of the traveling hairdos!

Okay, so yes there is a very obvious movie reference.

I can’t help but write about this today for 2 reasons – 1. it’s a Monday and 2. enough said.

Most Mondays give me the blues, and I often go into a hair from hell every single Monday morning (and I’m not even kidding.) So as I woke up and struggled with my hair, I realized, what if a hair from hell situation arises during a trip I undertake?

Until now I’ve been super lucky to avoid such a situation during my travels (mainly because my hair has been short-ish) but luck as we know it, has a sneaky habit of running out on us. And it is precisely to avoid such a punch in the gut, that we kick this problem straight in the shin. ๐Ÿ˜›

It doesn’t matter how long or short you hair is, all you’ll need is a hair tie, 2 bobby pins, and 5 minutes (or less.)

#1. The Gibson Tuck.

Esse รฉ fรกcil!

I have shoulder length, straight and fine hair, cut in layers which can sometimes be a task to get right – this took me less than 2 minutes with semi-dry hair, and trust me, it’ll leave you with the prettiest natural looking curls.

My twist on the Gibson Tuck is: to chuck the entire pony tail through, rather than divide an conquer. Which will save you precious time if your hair is longer.

The longer your hair is, the lesser chance there is that you’ll need those two bobby pins.

#2 Good Old Braids.

the fishtail

Regular, side, fishtail… ladies the possibilities are endless.

But since I’m a novice at the fishtail, it took me more than five minutes before I gave up in frustration, the regular braid saved me, in 15 seconds flat. Remember the rule of the fishtail, the messier it is, the better it looks. Besides, if you do only small sections of your hair rather than the entire mane, and leave them half done, you’ll totally pull of the hippie traveler look ๐Ÿ˜‰

My twist on the fishtail : if it feels like its weighing you down, and you don’t want to go through the ordeal of undoing it.. simply bunch it all up, and tie it into a bun and voila! you have a textured bun! ๐Ÿ˜€

#3 Rope Twist Bun!

For the girlies with the curlies!

Okay, so this works for my kind of hair too, but it takes about 5 minutes and all the three weapons in my arsenal

So I’d suggest you keep this asย  last resort sort of a thing, where you know, you have 5 comfortable minutes before you rush out to a world that’s waiting to be explored by you.

# 4 The top knot

This is my favorite for every time that my hair has misbehaved, and I have put it in place. All with the help of one little hair tie!

#5 The ever faithful Ponytail

There’s a reason why most traveling ladies prefer to tie their hair in a pony tail – it never lets you down!

.

and with this little trick – with the two bobby pins, you’ll always have a fuller looking pony tail!

With that I hope you never have to have a bad hair day on your excursions of the world (or even in general) ever again. Most of these are simple and easy to follow through with, but if you want something a little more extravagant.. there’s always pinterest! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I gotta go now,
Okaybye!
