1. Not disciplining them enough.
Yes, there are things as too much or too little discipline, and both aren’t good.

2. Not paying attention to them.
Yes you need a break, yes, you want to enjoy the trip your own way as well; but that doesn’t give you the liberty to ignore, or filter out your younglings’ rants and rambles. They’re just as excited as you, and don’t have anyone else to talk to since you asked them to not talk to strangers.

3. Not letting them bring a toy or book along.

4. Not letting them be adventurous with the menu.
Kids have weird preferences, yes they do; but don’t deny them the choice to choose. Reason with them when you think they’ll never be able to down the whole thing.

5. Not letting them pick items on the itinerary.
Again, yes they’ll probably not have the best adult friendly choice, but let them be a part of the decision making process and they’ll be more enthusiastic towards sightseeing ¬†and come up with the most adorable poses for the pictures that you take.
